On the same day, we’re looking for bright new talent by encouraging students to present their ongoing research at a special Doctoral Consortium, giving them the chance to shine in front of their peers and to learn from each other.

This will be followed by two days of conference keynotes and a parallel programme of presentations and posters about research, developments and applications from leading professionals working across all sectors. It’s a unique forum for learning and exchange of ideas and information enabling expansion of the discipline on an international stage.

Next year is also the CIEHF’s 70th anniversary of its formation as the Ergonomics Research Society in 1949. We’re celebrating that achievement with a great line up of social activities in the evenings, giving you a chance to relax in a truly lovely riverside setting.

Make a submission
We’re looking for submissions for the conference days on 30 April and 1 May. This is a great opportunity for you to:

Publicise an important and impactful piece of human factors research.

Share your experiences through an interesting case study.

Make a poster presentation of your work.

Get your first taste of presenting in front of a professional audience.

Run a workshop to teach delegates about a useful ergonomics tool or method.

Lead a discussion about a challenge or issue facing the discipline.

Programme topics
The 2019 programme will be organised around topics which include:

Design

Healthcare

Occupational health

Rail

Aviation

Technology

Green/eco ergonomics

Autonomy

Cyber security

Behaviour change

Cognition

Safety culture

Highlighting the 70th anniversary, we’re also interested in submissions with a historical perspective, for example, ergonomics across the years, how the roles have changed over time, historical milestones, etc.

Submission details
For presentations and posters, you will need to submit a full paper from 2 to 8 pages in length.
